“Big Questions”
Group Coaching Cohort
A small-group coaching experience for people answering the Big Questions of meaning, purpose and identity
Group Description
The mid-life crisis has gotten a bad reputation for impulsive and bizarre behaviors. What mid-life really asks of us is the Big Questions of meaning, purpose, and identity change – which can be overwhelming and confusing to face. However, if we can rise to the challenge of answering, exciting possibilities for change and renewed sense of self await. Despite being a common phenomenon, there are so few places to discuss these Big Questions that suddenly confront us, given the cultural mockery of mid-life. This coaching group is designed to bring the Big Questions and shared experiences to light in a new way, to make space and energy for them, and start to answer what they ask of us.
It’s not the ultimate answer to the Big Questions in life, but it’s a way of approaching them – with full awareness, courage, compassion and playfulness.
Program approach
1.
Before stepping into new territory, learn what being centered and grounded feels like. Notice the difference between our default state.
Develop a habit of choosing a centered state of body and mind.
Connect with peers and share how Big Questions are affecting us.
2.
Become aware of how the different “parts” of us react to the change we envision for ourselves in response to our Big Questions.
Understand, on a mind and body level, our different patterns that prevent us from tackling the Big Questions.
3.
Use our skills of centered awareness to lead ourselves with compassion, courage, and curiosity.
Begin to answer the Big Questions from this new state of body and mind.
Put insight into action in meaningful ways – small or large.
